Thank you πŸ™ Lo

am a real amature at e mailing & still have no idea how it all works, or how to send pics or documents. I always like to write a full page with paragraphs & good punctuation . . though when I send it, the receiver seems to have the page format quite different, like sentences all joined & no pause for reading, right to the end 🧐

A while back, the Solicitors kindly offered to have their name on the will, as the second person under the excecutor.

But have already chosen the second name.

My doctor of 12 years would be wonderful, but then there’s that β€˜Dr. patient’ thing, where he may not want to do, as I’m currently still a patient.

Anyway, I’m sure it will all work out soon.

In the meantime, as I have said in the past to the Solicitors receptionist β€˜Hope I don’t have a sudden fatal heart attack, like my father did in 1975’ before I get these papers signed again !

Such important advice,Lo. My father died in a car accident aged 39 with no will in place, leaving my mother with no access to his estate save for medical or educational costs for we three children. Lesson one. Then my husband died aged 57, but had all affairs in order by some miracle and this meant I was able to make important decisions about his treatment in his last months when he was no longer able. Lesson two.

So your advice is really so critical and sadly ignored by so many people. Even those who are aware of the need.

You have given me a good β€˜wake up’ call here Lo πŸ™ with your story today & I thank you !

I procrastinate quite often & seems the older I become, the more I tend to do it . . is it a bad thing ? Or is it part of your own personality or ways of thinking or getting into a more β€˜layed back’ approach of doing things in your world around you ? Could the now β€˜rural’ country living life have slowed me down with β€˜getting it done today’ ? I’m sure it has had an effect anyway . . when I lived in surry hills for those wonderful 20 years, I was always on the ball.

I was never late for work, or late meeting friends at venues, my paperwork ( tax etc ) was always up to date & would never be late for any appointments.

I’ve had my Will done . . around 10 years ago, with my Solicitor. For the past year, been racking my brain to update to a more suitable excecutor . . Solicitors have called me numerous times throughout the past year, asking if I’m ready to sign the new papers with any newly chosen names.

My big ongoing procrastinating problem πŸ“ƒ

Majority of my long time, trust worthy & beautiful good hearted friends, are now heading into their mid 70’s & I wouldn’t expect them to take on the roll of an executor for any long term, & having that responsibility on the back of their mind . . I don’t think it would be fair on them.

Great choice of topic today Lo !

It is an important one & I know many people in my area, who don’t even have one πŸ“ƒ & can’t be bothered even getting a Will signed for themselves .

Would love to hear what you think , Lo

( I even added the Procrustination word to profile on Instagram today ) πŸ˜‚

( Am having a very quiet birthday today ) 🀫

Wow, good solid recommendations here. We have wills all done because our son has a disability and needed a special trust set up. Good New Year suggestion. However it would take me the rest of whatever life is left to me to pick those songs haha.
