On Songs That Get Second Chances, Songs That Give Second Chances & Songs That Have A Life Of Their Own
I Love Rock’nRoll, too! Thank you for your insightful shares Lo. Cheers!
Thanks for reading Erinn!
Great piece! So many songs and memories. I had heard a few of the stories, but thanks so much for sharing.
My pleasure Susanne and thank you for reading!
I’ll have to make a list of favourite covers and then narrow it down!!
Here’s a start -
Gates Of Eden and Song for Woody - Ralph McTell covers Bob Dylan (he did a whole album, it’s all lovely)
Going Back To Harlan, Emmy-Lou Harris (a McGarrigle composition)
The Cake and the Candle - Kate Ceberano (written for her by Paul Kelly)
My Island Home - Christine Anu (recorded by its creators as well I believe? )
I love these choices Genevieve - although I will have to explore the Ralph McTell album, I'm not familiar. Thank you for sharing them!
Sorry it took me so long to reply here - the album is called Gates Of Eden. I’m sticking it in the car now to play on a drive tomorrow. Good night xx
And it is a range of blues and Woody Guthrie and Dylan songs, not just Dylan. I should have looked before I wrote.
