Bloody good, this is.

I too have bled, on both my 1968 Fender Jazz bass and my 2003 Martin D-28. In fact, due to the latter, Martin would not honor the lifetime guarantee one gets with a Martin. I'd cleaned it up, and while driving through Pennsylvania en route back to the Catskill Mtns, I dropped by the famed Martin factory in Nazareth, PA. The bridge was coming unglued and was cracked (I play very hard), and at first they said, "We will repair this for free and send it back via US Mail." The next day, I'm back home in the mountains, and they call to let me know they're sending it back as I left it. I.e. still broken. They'd found bloodstains inside the body, tiny little brown specks. They claimed it was against Occupational Safety Hazard regulations to work on it. The luthier who repaired it said they were probably just looking for any excuse to not honor the warranty. Which annoyed me.

It's still my favorite guitar, though. And the factory tour is pretty amazing.

Rock on, blood sister.

What an amazing tale Robert, funny but kind of sad too, that Martin didn’t appreciate your passionate playing of their beautiful instrument! 🩸

Thank you. It was annoying but, considering the quality of the instrument, forgivable.

That's commitment for you. I've never had enough blood that people could see, but I did play a double bass one wild night and ended up with massive blisters on my fingers. I was enjoying myself so much as a standin that I kept going. No regrets :)

If you want blood, you got it

I have bled on my guitar playing a gig, we were just small time but I channelled all my pent up energy and frustration into those moments. Not often but at least I can say with Suzanne Vega "blood makes noise"
